Votes were planned Thursday in the Education and Labor and Ways and Means committees on a $1.5 trillion plan that majority House Democrats presented this week. The legislation seeks to provide coverage to nearly all Americans by subsidizing the poor and penalizing individuals and employers who don't purchase health insurance. Too bad we can't afford it. President George W. Bush signed into law Thursday the first major piece of legislation of his presidency, a $1.35 trillion tax cut over 10 years. Of the six senators begging President Obama to slow down health care reform, four of them -- Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Ben Nelson (D-NE), Olympia Snowe (R-ME), and Susan Collins (R-ME) -- voted for those huge Bush tax cuts.

Nothing completes your evening like riding the bus home with a schizophrenic who went off her meds. She was doing the whole rant against technology and yelling at the voices to be quiet. Other than that she seemed pretty cognitive.

Saw The Rev this weekend. Didn't see anyone I knew at the Saturday show. Kind of a roudy crowd. Luckily, I was in the Non-Beer-Throwing section. Also checked my school transcripts. Got a 3.2 in PM 501 and a 2.3 in PM 502 So I'll get money back from work for the 501 class

Bella was saved in the eleventh hour. Literally. I was down in Tacoma last night at 11pm Some guy down the street from where she was parked offered $100. It saved her from the crusher so I asked opheliagonemad to drive me down and sign her over.
